From a Tea Garden to Six Decades of Making
The Story of Style Decor – Established 1965
Style Decor’s journey began in 1965, when the family established a small tea garden and landscaping business known as Chappy’s Tea Garden.
What started with a modest range of garden planters, plaques and decorative columns gradually developed into a manufacturing business built on craftsmanship, creativity and determination.
The company’s first factory was a converted chicken run, where just five employees worked to produce decorative products for gardens and homes.
From these humble beginnings, Style Decor continued to grow, expanding its product range, manufacturing facilities and reputation.
Today, more than six decades later, Style Decor remains a proudly South African family business, carrying forward the traditions and vision of its founders.
Growing Through the Years
1989 – Expanding into Interior Décor
Style Decor introduced its interior décor range, expanding beyond traditional garden products. This marked an important new chapter in the company’s development.
1991 – International Inspiration
Style Decor attended the Macef trade show in Milan, Italy, gaining exposure to international design trends and new ideas.
1995 – Expanding the Factory and Showroom
As demand for Style Decor’s products increased, the business continued developing its manufacturing facilities and showroom.
2002 – A Dedicated Mould Shop
A dedicated mould shop was established, strengthening the company’s ability to develop decorative mouldings and specialised products.
2004 – Further Expansion
Style Decor continued expanding its facilities, supporting a growing product range and customer base.
